The DMgA has a rich collection of original photographs of musical and cultural-historical interest. It comprises almost 2100 portrait photographs and group pictures of instrumentalists, singers, conductors and composers from the period between around 1860 and 1920. The collection also contains silhouettes, caricatures, title engravings and portrait engravings from the 17th to 19th centuries.
